Music Artist/Producer Gee Reign Dead. Possible Drug Overdose ?

Phewww 😔😔 ... ... it is with a Heavy heart that i write this article . Few hours after i returned to this site, i got a call from a friend who announced to me the sad news. Cameroonian Music Artist/Producer Gee Reign passed away today 17th April 2018 after an Alleged Drug Overdose

Before i continue with this article it is important to note that this is not a form of slander and i think it is VERY VERY IMPORTANT for such issues to be discussed so as to sensitize the public (those in the Entertainment industry especially) against the use of Drugs.

We will talk about the cause of his death in a minute, but first ... Who is Gee Reign ?

Gee Reign is a Bamenda based Singer/Song-Writer and Music Producer mostly known for his songs like "Blowing Ashes" and his collaborative projects with Magasco, Gasha and others. You couldn't list artists in Bamenda from 2012 till date without mentioning Gee Reign especially because of his vocal prowess and Production skills. Haven produced a countless number of tracks for artists and himself too, He has a few videos to his name and has been featured on many songs throughout his career. Gee Reign was one of the most underrated Cameroonian Urban Artists of his generation. The entire Music industry is saddened by his passing with friends and fans all over still in shock. But what exactly happened to Gee Reign ?

Reports reaching me state that Gee Reign passed away due to a drug over dose, allegedly Tramadol. His close friends report that Gee Reign had been using drugs for a while but didn't have any significant negative effects. However, It is important to note that Gee Reign had passed out on stage while performing back in 2016 at the October 8th Edition of Industry Nite in Buea. He was rushed out of the performing ground to the hospital where he later on had a full recovery. It was rumoured that he passed out as a result of the drugs he took before his performance. Apparently this time around, he wasn't so lucky and probably passed out in his studio. Since there was no one around to get aid, he unfortunately overdosed and died. That is the report i have gotten so far.

An Official statement hasn't been made by his Family or Friends to approve or refute these claims but this is a Very Big blow to the music industry in Cameroon. I have had the honour of meeting and performing alongside this great talent on several occasions and it is just so sad to know that he is no more ... Smh 😫😫. I wish his family and loved ones strength during this difficult period and may Gee Reign's soul Rest in Peace
