#WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday): Get to know Cameroonian female artist LOYIK AFANA.

Loyik Afana is a Cameroonian recording artist and performer. Very early, she took her responsibilities and decided to live her dream. Passionate about singing and dance from the age of 15, she takes her first steps on the professional stage with a troop of the famous establishment Maeva in Yaoundé then Misahel and Yao Bâ. Building a career as an artist later on became her main purpose.


Over time, Loyik developed and broadened her fields of competence by creating her own concepts. She then obtained an opportunity to secure a performance contract in Russia and then in China before setting up her own business. Loyik decided to invest on her personal project and to really begin her solo career. In collaboration with the music production house TOUCHSOUND Music, she realized her debut single "Tu es fort".

Ambitious and independent, Loyik identifies herself with artists such as Angelique Kidjo, Coumba Gawlo, Amy Winehouse, just to name a few. Her immersion in the Asian culture made her discover a certain taste for Electro. The challenge of the artist is to find the balance between this style and afro sonorities, conferring an original and special sound signature that she calls "Electro Afrobeat".
